LEONARDI 1871 DOLCE VITA Black Balsamic Vinegar
Premium balsamic vinegar with the deep flavor of authentic Italy
Leonardi, a world-renowned balsamic master, has been a four-generation balsamic artisan in Modena, Italy, since 1871. It is a trusted brand among European gourmets.
Among them, DOLCE VITA Black Balsamic is a premium product, certified IGP (Protected Geographical Indication), an authentic balsamic vinegar produced exclusively in Modena.
🍇
What grapes is it made from?
Authentic balsamic vinegars differ from grape variety to grape.
Leonardi Black Balsamic Vinegar is made from a combination of the following two grapes:
Trebbiano – A bright yellow-green grape, it offers a refreshing and balanced acidity.
Lambrusco – A deep purple to red grape, it adds a deep, rich sweetness.
These two grape varieties are harvested, their skins and seeds are boiled together, and then aged for a long time in oak barrels,
naturally developing a dark color, rich aroma, and smooth consistency.
📌 In other words, black balsamic vinegar is made not only from purple grapes, but also from a blend of green grapes.
The color isn't derived from the grape color itself, but rather from the boiling and aging process.

The Creation of a Luxury Balsamic Vinegar, Made with Traditional Methods
LEONARDI 1871 DOLCE VITA Black Balsamic Vinegar is more than just a seasoning.
It is the essence of balsamic vinegar, crafted with care and time, following centuries-old traditions in Modena, Italy.
① Grape Harvest
We hand-harvest the **Trebbiano (green grapes)** and **Lambrusco (purple grapes)** grown in the sun-drenched Modena region of Italy.
We select only the freshest grapes with natural sweetness.
② Condensing the Grape Juice
The harvested grapes are pressed to extract the juice, which is then slowly reduced in a copper pot.
This process infuses the concentrated grape juice (must) with a deep, sweet aroma.
③ Natural Fermentation and Oxidation
The condensed grape juice is placed in large wooden barrels for natural fermentation.
Slow exposure to air allows for a harmonious balance of acidity and flavor.
④ Oak Barrel Aging
Balsamic vinegar is gradually transferred to several oak barrels of varying sizes and aged for several years.
Over time, the color deepens and a smooth, rich flavor develops.
This process is called the "Solera Method."
⑤ Bottling and Completion
The fully aged balsamic vinegar is bottled in thick, elegant glass bottles and delivered to your table.
Made solely with grapes, time, and artisan care, without any artificial additives.
